Sports: MLB (NL Wild Card)

The NL wild card remained scoreless for the first eight innings with great pitching performances from Madison Bumgarner and Noah Syndergaard. However, in the ninth inning, Jeurys Familia gave up a three-run home run to catcher Conor Gillaspie driving in Brandon Crawford and Joe Panik.

Bumgarner was able to pitch a complete game shutout  and though he gave up four hits there was never a chance for the Mets to score. New York goes home while the Giants move on to play the very tough Chicago Cubs. The Mets had a good season and fought hard to make it to where they did. I'm a Braves fan so the Mets have always been a bit of a rival team, but I do like a good underdog story. Their run to the World Series last year was very exciting.

I have mentioned my theory, or rather superstition, that San Francisco will win the even year this decade and while that has happened only twice, I'm going to get behind it. Plus I like the Giants, so I am going to be watching closely. Still, the idea of the Cubs winning is exciting as well.  The NL is my preferred league so I'll be extra excited for these games, but I'm going to try to watch all of the playoffs this year unlike last year.
