MLB Spring Training

With all eyes on the champ week of conference tournaments in college basketball, it's easy to forget that spring training has started up in Major League Baseball. The games are just exhibition games and don't have many consequences but it is nice to have the baseball season right around the corner. I'll make sure to do a recap post at the end of this month when the exhibition games are over and the real games start. I also hope to do a post previewing the season.

For me, baseball has always been about the Atlanta Braves who I follow closely throughout the season. So far they have not been playing very well this spring training with a record that is next to last in the Grapefruit League. Currently the Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros are in the top of the Grapefruit League but we'll have to see how that turns out in the actual regular season. All the games for this league are played in Florida.

The other league is the Cactus league in Arizona. Currently at the top of that league is the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks. We'll have to see if these teams even get in the top two in their division.

Another team that I root for since I've moved to Kentucky is the Cincinnati Reds who are right in the middle of the Cactus league. So far they have not done well in the two years that I've followed them closely.

I am looking forward to the regular season getting underway but the first games aren't until April 3rd so I'll have to wait until then. I hope to update monthly following the baseball season like I have done with the NBA this year. I'm exciting to watch the American classic for another season!
