I was so busy starting up this blog that I hardly got a chance to watch this game. With my Bengal bias, I don't like either of these teams, especially the Steelers. I would've liked the Ravens to be totally eliminated but crippling the Steelers with two losses is beneficial. The Steelers led for most of the game but had several opportunities to win but missed field goals and tough coaching decisions left them without enough to prevent an overtime. Both teams look bad, which is good for the Bengals who face the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday.
There are plenty of better voices to listen to about football, I'm just honing my reporting skills and I enjoy the sport. I have to willfully ignore the negative effects of football related injuries to enjoy the sport. I haven't decided how I feel about it but I guess my watching it and allowing my eyes to be exposed to the numerous advertisements that influence me subconsciously implies I am a complicit viewer.
In this game, the quarterback Michael Vick played in place of the injured Ben Roethlisberger. Vick used to be a quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons. I was a fan. He was a hero to me. I bought his shoes. In that way, I indirectly funded the dog fighting ring he set up in Virginia. I feel guilty. I love dogs. Fuck.
Football is so controversial and I have to dull my mind to enjoy it.
